Studio Mama Presh was developed with and dedicated to Osso’s long time friend and colleague PRECIOUS SITHOLE. Precious is a key person in the studio as she allows for creative freedom to flourish. She is a strong woman in her own right and together this team makes the magic.

TAMARA OSSO holds an MA in Fine Arts (cum laude) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (cum laude) both from Wits University. In 2022, her first solo exhibition “Paradise of Normality” was presented at the Firestation in Johannesburg in collaboration with Lizamore & Associates.  Her award-winning work as a dancer and performer has been seen in theatres and festivals locally and internationally, including Dance Umbrella, Johannesburg, the Baxter Theatre, Cape Town, The Grand Theatre, Shanghai, Tianqiao Performance Center, Beijing and Asia World Arena, Hong Kong.

 

SITHOLE grew up in Escourt, KZN. She is a qualified carer and special needs facilitator. She began her career as a full time house mother for Acres of Love (NGO), a children's home for abandoned and HIV children. She has worked as a support assistant teacher in top tier remedial schools such as The Talk Shop & Bellavista in Johannesburg. She holds certificates in Basic Child Care,  Early Childhood Development, Pre-School and Barriers to Learning Certificates (Special Needs).

The collection draws from the secret spaces that exist within the garden, spaces of play just beyond the fronds. To get there, simply requires a little bit of curiosity, and a lot of imagination. This collection has elements of intrigue and frivolity which are key components for the perfect garden game. Osso believes that being connected to nature is vital to our well- being and playing together remains essential for our emotional growth.
